What do your clients love most about your performances?
Our clients love that The Hush Hush provide a uniquely stylised performance. Everything from our louche formal attire to our nostalgic song choices has been carefully curated to convey a dark and stylish atmosphere.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
We are regulars at cocktail and hotel bars around London, and also play regularly at private events.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
Artists of old are our usual point of influence. Some examples are Elvis, The Doors, Chris Isaak, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Dusty Springfield, Tom Waits, Nick Cave etc.
Cult cinema references are also a staple in our repertoire. Expect plenty of David Lynch and Tarantino soundtrack favourites.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
One of our most memorable gigs was in collaboration with famed whisky company Wild Turkey.
We created a setlist that complimented the retro-Americana theme of the event perfectly, which was hosted by a reputable barber shop in London's East End.
The event was a huge success, and we made some great friends in the process.
Do you have different line-up options?
Our line up consists of one vocal, one acoustic guitar, and one electric baritone guitar.
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
We absolutely can. We understand that you may like to maintain a consistent ambience even when we are not playing, so have created a playlist of songs that compliment our style. This additional service would be completely free of charge.
How much time do you need to set up?
We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time to ensure that the sound is perfect.
Can you roam around while you perform?
Due to being tethered to amps and the PA we will not be able to roam around.
Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?
We have put extensive time into curating our setlists to best ensure a memorable performance, however you can absolutely pick your favourite songs from our extensive repertoire if you wish. Requests not featured on our repertoire list are also not a problem (assuming we are given enough notice).
Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?
We can usually provide all equipment necessary, however if the venue is particularly far from us then we may request a PA system is provided. Alternatively we can organise hire of a small portable PA system.
Can you learn song requests before the event?
Yes we can, but please give us as much notice as possible prior to the event.
