The Hathersage Quartet

The Hathersage Quartet is a string quartet accumulated of players graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music. Not only are all four players accomplished as an ensemble, but each player has an impressive resume in their personal careers. They first started their professional freelance career as an ensemble in 2021, accompanying soloist Savva Svere in Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. This was the start of an upward journey for the ensemble, as since then they have had many fortunate opportunities doing wedding recitals as well as event performances. The group initially formed in November 2020, as all players found themselves within the same block Halls of Residence. Despite having heavy restrictions on interactions during COVID, the quartet still managed to find opportunities to work together and nourish their unique sound as an ensemble. Having several years to enrich this has meant that the Hathersage Quartet have been able to come across a range of obscure composers and compositions, allowing their repertoire to expand further. Having performed in a variety of settings, the quartet has had the opportunity to explore many different genres of music. This has ranged from performing Queen of Sheba at weddings, to then playing an hour of James Bond themed tunes. Not only does this add to the quartet’s versatility with performance venues, but it ensures that no music request is off the table!
