"The Bluesrockers" "A Rockin' Good four piece Blues band, all seasoned, fabulous musical performers and ideal for your event. Let's get this party started!" Although this band formed in the summer of 2024, they are all consummate professionals having played for years in great bands. This excellent group is comprised of musicians who've played with notable musicians across the years at festivals, parties, weddings, theatres, pubs, you name it. If you like the Rockin' Blues served up in a classic R'n'B fashion then THIS is the band for YOU! Read on folks! THE BAND MEMBERS; Pete Mathison is a fantastic professional guitar player. He has recorded and toured with many great acts over the years including Ray Davies (of "The Kinks"), Linda Gail Lewis (sister of legendary rocker Jerry Lee Lewis and a fabulous musician in her own right), previously performing in a duo with Gary Rickard (from "The Balham Alligators") and many others all across the world. Recently Pete has been busy on the South Wales music scene with Blues and Rock acts such as "Sting Like a Bee", "The Swamp Devils", occasionally standing in as the guitarist for "Whiskey River" plus leading his own classic R'n'B trio "Junior Hacksaw". He toured Holland with "Red Beans and Rice" and played many Blues clubs with "J. Alexander and the Blues Devils" which was an off-shoot of Cardiff-based Blues legends "Snatch It Back". He is also the band's main vocalist and majorly well-respected on the UK Blues scene. He has appeared on "Guitar Greats at the BBC" on BBC 4, also Conan O'Brien's "The Late Late Show" from New York and many other shows (all from his eight years of performing with Ray Davies). Aidan Sheehan has for many years played with "Whiskey River" who are renowned throughout the UK Cajun scene and also at European Cajun and Zydeco festivals. That band were billed by Gloucester Cajun Festival as "the hottest foot-stompin', Zydeco, Blues, Cajun, Bluegrass, Country Rock band around". Aidan plays (and also teaches) Blues, Country and Cajun harmonica, Cajun and Zydeco accordion, woodwind, mandolin and sings. He has appeared onstage in the UK, Ireland and continental Europe with several notable musicians including ex-members of Van Morrison's band, The Revillos, Lazy Lester, Rob Paparozzi (Blues Brothers Band touring musician / Randy Newman Band), Steve Gibbons and many others. He has appeared on the same bill as Nine Below Zero, The Blockheads, Steve Gibbons, The Larry Miller Band, Albert Lee and is a session musician, has created music for a movie, played in theatre shows, on many recordings, TV, Radio and often appears at harmonica festivals as a teacher and performer and is well-known on the Cajun and Folk scene too as a multi-instrumentalist. He has appeared on Sky TV (The Phil Mack Show), also various BBC TV and Radio shows including "30 Something Else", "Celtic Heartbeat", "The Slate", "Genevieve Tudor Show", "Owen Money Show", "Frank Hennessey Show", "Roy Noble Show", "Ellie Fiorentina Show", Mal Pope Show" etc. He has received favourable mentions in print including BLOCK (NL) and BLUES MATTERS (UK). Besides his Louisiana-style accordion playing he makes his harmonica talk the Blues! Alright! Charlie Kyte on electric bass, and Phyl Siencyn on percussion are both experienced players completing the line up by providing a rock-solid rhythm section of drums and bass. They'll get you dancing! Charlie previously worked with "Bonzo Dog Doo Dah band" front man Viv Stanshall and Phyl has worked with John Cale from "Velvet Underground" and his collaborative band work has generated great reviews in music magazines including MOJO and SHINDIG. The Bluesrockers feature music from the back catalogues of several great Southern-style USA bands and performers including The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Slim Harpo, Lazy Lester, Howling Wolf, Jimmy Rogers, Buddy Guy, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Little Walter, Tommy Tucker, Shaky Horton, David Lindley, The Meters, Chuck Berry and many other great Blues and R'n'B icons. Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We can be a duo for more intimate venues yet our full line-up is a four piece, bass, drums, guitar, twin vocals plus Blues Harmonica and Zydeco Accordion.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We will try our best to accommodate you. Just communicate it and we'll do our best for you.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we can play suitable music on our device shortly before we go on (a mixture of Blues and Americana) and also in the break between our sets. When we finish our set we will pack away so we cannot play our i-pod aft. This is not chargeable. If you want something more than that you could hire a DJ or have your own music via your own sound system of course.

How much time do you need to set up?

45 minutes to set up and sound check is required. We need enough space left for us to set up and a safe electrical supply to plug into.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No we are confined to one area as that is where our PA is set up. We are sorry that we cannot roam YET the music is so good you'll all be dancing so there will be no room for the band to roam anyway :¬).

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We have sometimes been asked this. We read the audience, note what is going well and try to keep them engaged and dancing, so please trust us to do that for you. A DJ can provide a choice of what you want or you can play a mix via your i-pod when we are not performing.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

The PA is in the quote we do not have our own lighting. You could hire lighting / arrange it separately. We also require an area of about 15 feet by 10 feet in which to set up.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If we know it already we might play it. The songs we know well are going to sound great, they're already well played in. Something new won't be as good plus it takes time to learn it. Trust us, if you have chosen our genre of music we will do a wonderful show for you as is.
