About Swingin' Bill's Vintage Revue

SWINGIN' BILL'S VINTAGE REVUE Purveyors of the finest jumping jive, western swing, jazz standards and showtunes
Vintage band
Cardiff
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Swingin' Bill's Vintage Revue are an energetic and highly entertaining musical act from Cardiff, who appeal to all ages, covering classics written by the likes of Louis Prima, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Jordan, Jackie Wilson, Nina Simone, Doris Day, Cab Calloway and Ray Charles. During decades in the music business, the band's members have played venues ranging from village halls to stages at all the big festivals, and have both supported and played with a number of big acts. Playing a mixture of jumping jive, western swing, and jazz standards (with dashes of rock ‘n’ roll, ragtime and the odd showtune thrown in to leaven the mix), we're bound to get your guests smiling, tapping their toes, singing along, and dancing. LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!!!

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We are a 5-piece band. Our line-up is as follows: Male vox/guitar Female vox Violin Bass guitar Drums

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

No. That said, as soon as our PA is set up we usually play period-friendly music from the 1920s through to the 1940s in order to help set the atmosphere; if we are playing two sets, we will play similar tunes in between the sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually need about 1 to 1.5 hours to set up, ideally finishing 45-60 minutes before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we usually play period-friendly music from the 1920s through to the 1940s in order to help set the atmosphere; if we are playing two sets, we will play similar tunes in between the sets.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No - we really do need a dedicated area where the five of us can perform without interacting physically with audience members. This is to ensure the safety of both ourselves and audience members, by ensuring the integrity of our lighting and public address equipment. Ideally, we require a dedicated 6m by 3m area to work in.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. That said, we are definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system is included in your quote.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £40 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
