Stephen Skinn

Stephen has been playing live music for 7 years, entertaining a varied audience at all kinds of events including Christmas events and pub performances. He first picked up a guitar at the age of 11, taking lessons from a local tutor. Once he had mastered the basic chords, he took things to the next step - putting those chords together and adding a melody. He only found his ability to compose when he tried playing a lyric and chord sequence, having never heard the song before, and came up with an entirely new melody. He initially began writing cheesy, over the top love songs and playing them to his mother and brother. He developed his songwriting over the next few years and finally came up with the song 'Believe In', which he regards as the changing point in his writing. Performing it live at the Corran Halls in September 2012, it was the first of Stephen's compositions to be played live. After writing enough songs fit enough for an album, Stephen hit the recording studio in 2015. Entering the studio for the first time was a huge moment for Stephen, as it was something he had dreamed about since coming up with a melody for the first time. His first album, 'Living Off Dreams', was released in September 2017.
