Skylark Trio is a band featuring some of the UK's most active and accomplished chamber jazz musicians. Critically acclaimed Violinist Tobie Medland has performed across the world, and is recognised as a leading figure on the home-grown scene. Tobie hand-picks the best guitarist and double bassist for each gig, from a poole of some of the country's finest musicians. Skylark Trio perform a varied repetoire, which can be catered to each event. This ranges from music inspired by the great Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli, as well as jazz standards, bossa nova, and popular classics. They are charming, sophisticated, warm-hearted and liberal: a perfect choice for weddings and events which need a touch of class but don't want to appear stuffy; couples that would like a queer-led band to help everyone feel at ease; or concerts and events that require some of the UK's most accomplished jazz musicians to perform.

Skylark Trio were excellent arriving in plenty of time after efficient communication before the event. They played from the moment the formal celebration finished until we went into the wedding breakfast an hour and a half later. The music was superb and lively so everybody loved it. There were many compliments from the guests several of whom were musicians. We would definitely book them again and advise others to do so.

Do you have different line-up options?

Trio: violin, guitar, bass. Quartet: violin, guitar, guitar, bass. Quartet; violin, -choice instrument-, guitar, bass. We can put any band you are after together, as long as it contains a violin and a bass!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We are generally flexible, unless we have another gig in the same day! Just let us know about changes as soon as you can.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, either play list or DJ - DJ service would be an additional £300

How much time do you need to set up?

10 minutes

Can you roam around while you perform?

We can if our set up doesn’t include Double Bass. We prefer not to though as our performances iare better, sat!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We have our usual set list of tried and tested standards. Feel free to let us know if there’s any tunes you would like/a first dance request!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Band amplification is included. DJ equipment is included. Full PA or lighting is not.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, happily.
