SCD Solo Piper provides Highland Bagpipe music for all events! SCD Solo Piper was established by Shonagh Duncan; a Highland Bagpipe player with 18 years of experience. Experience was gained as a pipe band member (e.g. at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo), and as a soloist. Shonagh brings this experience to solo engagements across the country; from family occasions (weddings, funerals, anniversaries), to corporate and cultural events (e.g. Conferences and Burns Night), across Scotland and the UK. Shonagh has performed at a variety of events, both as a Soloist and as a Band member. These include: - Weddings, funerals, and family events - Concerts including Jethro Tull's Charity Christmas Concert and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's Concert - Cruise Ship to the Scottish Isles and Faroe Islands - Scottish Music Parade Tour, Germany - Military Tattoos, including The 2017, 2018, and 2019 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo - Performed with Pipers Trail (the House band of the Edinburgh Tattoo) in Germany, Norway, Prague, and China. Shonagh has also appeared in various media, including: - Live BBC Breakfast T.V., Norwegian Breakfast T.V., and America's 'Today Show' T.V. - Live BBC Radio 2 - The Sunday Post, Dnes (a daily newspaper in the Czech Republic), and more. - No.1 Magazine Shonagh's core focus is to provide a tailored service in order to deliver a service best suited to each individual. If you have a tune request for your event - for example, a sentimental tune, or family favourite - simply enquire about this. Shonagh always aims to provide specific requests when possible. Equally, if you do not mind what tunes will be played, that is no problem - Shonagh will play a mixture of tunes that are appropriate to your event.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I am very flexible in what I do in order to provide the most suitable and smooth service to you that I can. Hence, if your timings change slightly after you have booked, simply let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

This is not required for a Solo Piper.

How much time do you need to set up?

Minimal time is required for setting up; this can vary depending on the kind of event. Simply somewhere to tune up my pipes is all I need.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I provide a mixture of traditional and contemporary Bagpipe music suited to your events. However, if you would like to know the kinds of tunes I can offer, I can send you a list of appropriate tunes - I am always happy to discuss with you what is best for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I bring all equipment required for my performances.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I provide a mixture of traditional and contemporary Bagpipe music suited to your events. However, if you have a specific tune that you would like to be played, simply let me know. I am always willing to accommodate this if it is a tune that can be technically played on the Bagpipes.
