Shannen Turner

Shannen Turner is a folk singer/songwriter based in Kent. Her music tells passionate stories of love and loss wrapped up in soft country tones. Shannen's set list includes a variety of folk, country, pop and rock songs presented through an acoustic guitar, along with her excellent voice. Uniquely, Shannen plays an autoharp, which will please country/folk music fans as these instruments are quite rare in modern music. Shannen first began singing when she was only 7 years old at school and learned to play the piano. Shannen also plays an acoustic guitar, autoharp and is currently learning the banjo. She has now been performing professionally for thirteen years. Shannen graduated from the Lir academy of dramatic art in 2017 with a first-class honour's degree in acting. Shannen has been classically trained in both acting and music and her vocal skills are first-rate. Shannen lived in Dublin from the age of 21-26 and this experience has very much shaped Shannen's drive for performing live music professionally. Starting this career so young means that she now has years of experience performing with many different styles of music, with different musicians, solo and in full bands, in a variety of venues and places . Some of these venues include festivals, weddings, private parties, charity events, stage musicals, funeral services, bars, restaurants and many more. Shannen currently performs solo with an acoustic guitar and an autoharp (please make sure you request this if you’re interested). She regularly performs as a duo with another guitarist/banjo player and also sings for a large band which is available on request.
