About Sexy Rumours

London's #1 party band covering the funkiest grooves, alt/pop hits and inescapable classics

Verified profile

Sexy Rumours are the London-based band that your party needs. Specialising in performing hits from over 60 years of pop music that include everything from end of the night rock & indie classics to modern girl pop they offer much more than you might expect from a 4-piece band. Not only do they play the songs everyone wants to hear they drop in the tunes that guests are afraid to ask for or don't think possible when an all-male group starts to play. Rob (vocals), Frankie (guitar), Bill (bass) & Nick (drums) have been playing in bands since their early teens and formed Sexy Rumours in 2014 as a wedding present to their friends Matt & Maria. Since then the band have played across the UK for wedding parties, corporate clients and festival organisers with a priority on making the audience beg for more. The band are notorious for their marathon sets, so be sure to enforce a curfew or they might just keep the party going all night long. Take a look, have a listen and don't be shy to get in touch. x

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients love our energy and stamina to perform. Our sets are becoming legendary in some places for their duration because we just love to play. Also we play stuff that your average 4-piece all male band won't or can't and this sets us apart in our clients opinion.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We recently played a wedding at Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush, a venue notorious for breaking world-famous acts. Other venues include Leytonstone Street Festival main stage Old Ticket Hall (Windsor) Testbed 1 (Battersea)

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Prince is the artist that our band all agrees upon. Otherwise we have a huge range of influences. Nick (drummer) loves 60/70's rock like The Doors, Led Zep & Hendrix, Bill (bass) loves 70's disco & funk such as Chic & Rick James. Frankie (guitar) loves classic 80's bands like Devo & The Cure and Rob (Vocals) loves songwriting legends like Bowie & Neil Young

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Jack Daniels National Sales conference was attended by all the sales teams from around the UK and we played for them as part of their Jacks Rocks promotion.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

100% you will get Rob as your singer for your event. We do have pre-auditioned 'dep' musicians for other roles in the band should anyone else fall ill.

Do you have different line-up options?

We currently only have our 4-piece line up. Vocals/Keys, Guitar, Bass, Drums. We are currently exploring options to expand and reduce this line up.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

That's Ok. We have played enough events to know that not everything is going to run exactly to schedule, or things might need changing around to make for a better/smoother evening. We are flexible and very approachable just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Like a lot of bands we do offer a DJ service, however unlike most bands two of our members are Djs with over 10 years of experience specialising in everything from House & Garage to Hip Hop & party classics. We can provide this service for an extra £50.

How much time do you need to set up?

Ordinarily we will need 60-90 mins set up time before playing. Once the PA is set up we can provide some playlists to get the atmosphere ready for the live performance.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We encourage input in this area from those who book us. Our sets are crafted to suit your guests and with all our experience we know what works to get everyone dancing and having a good time. If there are songs that you specifically want to hear then just let us know.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our standard PA & lighting is included in the quote, should there be any need for extra equipment due to the size of the venue we can discuss ways to accommodate you. Our set up works well in small and mid-sized venues.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If the song isn't included in our song list we might still know it so just just drop us a line. We offer a service whereby we can learn songs for an additional fee

Sexy rumours were immense. The band asked me to send them a Spotify playlist a month out so they could gauge the vibe of the evening and the songs they prepared were spot on, couldn’t have designed a better set list myself. The band also played for an extra 45 mins as they were having so much fun, which made the evening that bit better. I’d 100% recommend sexy rumours!

What an awesome band. Really enjoyed the gents playing for us on our wedding day. Everything was very professional, no worries with regards to setting up or anything it was all sorted and arranged weeks before so we enjoyed our wedding day worry free. When we met the band they were really friendly and you could tell we would have a great night. Very enthusiastic and fun. In terms of sound and tightness the band were absolutely amazing, Robs vocals were fantastic throughout the night with incredible ranges from Tina Turner to Artic Monkeys. The music sounded incredible in the large venue we had. Full of energy, everybody we’ve spoke to since the wedding said it was such a great evening of music (and we have some musicians in the family who were watching). Special thanks to The Sexy Rumours. Made our day incredible!

Rob and the rest of the band were blooming fantastic. They got everyone up dancing and was entertaining from start to finish. Song choices were good and catered for all music tastes. They were professional from start to finish and the preparation prior to the wedding was nothing short of amazing. They were organized and had thought of everything. They were friendly to all guests and everyone afterwards raved about the atmosphere they created. Even my nan who complains about everything enjoyed them! Couldn’t recommend them enough!

Sexy Rumours were an unbelievably fantastic addition to our wedding day. Their banging tunes and fun energy really got the party going and filled the dance floor. They got everyone involved and the place was rocking! The conga line behind the guitarist was a particular highlight. Rob & the guys really took the time in advance of the event to understand our music tastes and even learned some extra songs to fit the set. They were well-organised and really put my mind at ease before the big day. Our guests still can’t stop talking about how good the band were. A true highlight of the day and I can’t recommend them highly enough!
