Second Floor Funk is a London based band formed in March 2022. They are the resident band at Hekspace Studios and have worked with artists like Zero B, Shay Harris, Alani D Eagle and many more artists. They do a mixture of genres including Afrobeat, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Fusion, Latin, Reggae and R & B songs. Second Floor Funk are also available to play for private events, birthdays, music events, jam nights and they work with singers too. They can provide all music equipment upon request as well as work with venues that have a PA system/backline. Drop them a line if you need a band for your event, you will not be disappointed.

I recently had the pleasure of singing with the Second Floor Funk Band. Not only are the incredibly talented and professional musicians with excellent communication on and off stage but they are also some of the friendliest people I've had the pleasure of singing with. 2nd Floor Funk is the house band at Hekspace Studios playing a repertoire of Jazz, Funk, Soul, Blues, Afrobeat, etc, at our monthly music night and open mic jam session. The band is extremely professional, friendly and pick up new songs with ease, along with their large catalogue of material they already know. They have played there for over 2 years. Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

The singers we use tend to be the same, we will only use a different singer if our main singers are unavailable on the requested dates, we will make sure they are professional and good at what they do.

Do you have different line-up options?

yes we do, we can be a 4 piece or 5 piece instrumental band, another option is we could add a sound engineer and singers upon request

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

just let us know as soon as you know and we will do our best to be flexible within reason

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

yes we have all the dj equipment, lighting and a good pa system at hand to use, just let us know about this beforehand and we will include this at an additional cost

How much time do you need to set up?

1 hour to set up and 15 to 20mins to do a soundcheck

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes and long as you tell us in good time

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

we will ask if the venue has a PA system and lighting or not, then once we know that we will give you a quote accordingly

Can you learn song requests before the event?

yes just let us know at least 1 week before the event and we will do this
