My name is Ryan Anderson and I have been playing bagpipes since the age of 9. I have experience playing the bagpipes as both a soloist and in pipe bands. I am also a Chanter & Bagpipe Tutor for the schools in Moray. Throughout my time I have played at an many weddings and high profile engagements including – Being appointed the Lord Lieutenants Personal Piper performing at 6 royal engagements during my time in the post, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019. Piping for HM The Queen at Balmoral Castle, Piping for HRH Prince Charles & William at Holyrood Palace. Other events i have played at include; The Basel Christmas Tattoo in Switzerland, Musikfest der Bunderswehr in Dusseldorf and at Menin Gate in Ypres. I am currently a member of the Pipers Trail, with its aim of connecting the pipers of the world, Pipers Trail was developed by The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo as a way of bringing pipers and drummers from across the globe together, to form a house band. Whatever the event, be it a wedding, funeral, party, Burn's night celebration or gala dinner the bagpipes always add a touch of style and prestige; leaving your guests with lasting memories. With every detail tailor-made to your own requirements you can be assured of a professional and personal service. I can play traditional Scots and Irish music, favourite melodies or even requests. What do your clients love most about your performances?

Always good fun and open to requests. Happy to talk to the audience and get them up dancing!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Lots of wedding and party venues up and down the country.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Tunes by the Red Hot Chilli Pipers are a common requests but also more traditional tunes.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Balmoral Castle for HM The Queen & The Royal Family. As part of the massed Pipes & Drums at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle and televised to millions of people across the world.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know, even if things don't go to plan on the day - just keep me informed.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

How much time do you need to set up?

15 minute tune up time is all that's required.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Of course, and if there are tunes you have in mind please let me know!
