Ruby is a professional classically trained harpist that works in London. She has performed at The Royal Albert Hall through to Latitude Festival. Recorded for Island Records & Deutsche Grammophon. Ruby has also performed for shows in the Westend, and on records at Abbey Road Studios & Air Studios for film tracks. Pop & RnB artists including Alicia Keys, Rihanna, JP Cooper and Kyra. Orchestras she has played for include: The English National Opera, English National Ballet , BBC Concert Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet & Chineke! Orchestra. As an experienced wedding and events musician, Ruby enjoys the versatility this brings to performing! Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Wedding venues : Fitzrovia Chapel,The Old Marylebone Town Hall, Claridges, The Savoy Hotel, Hylands House, Losely House, St Columba’s Church, All Souls Church, The ICA, Events: The Meta Building , Kings Cross, The Royal Lancaster, The Savoy, The Ritz, The Landmark Hotel, The Design Museum, The V&A, The National History Museum, Concert venues: RFH,RAH.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Quincey Jones, Debussy, Bach, Vulfpeck, Max Richter, Jazzmeia Horn, Alicia Keys, are just some that I love.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I’ve been lucky enough to play in some really special places- & have signed some NDA’s! Joking aside, The BRITS were fun to play for & I always love playing at The Royal Albert Hall.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We try to be flexible to ensure your event runs smoothly. If timings change a little, please let me know beforehand and we can amend these on the booking form.

How much time do you need to set up?

I like to be set up and in place an hour before the performance time. That way I can see the guests arriving and talk to the registrars/event organisers.

Is the transport of your harp included in your quote?

Yes, travel is included in all quotes

Do you need any equipment provided to play outdoors?

The harp is an acoustic instrument and so no equipment is needed. For requests to play outdoors, the harp does need to have cover- A shaded area is ideal as the instrument is valuable and could be damaged. This can always be discussed with the venue's management for advice on where is best to place a musician at the venue/suites.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely, it is part of making your event personal and a success! I am always happy to to talk through music choices and advise my clients.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in the song list it is possible to request a song There is a very good chance I play it already! I am happy to learn a special song for you & I offer up to 4 new songs free. You are welcome to use the Skype consultation service I offer. After that there is a fee of £40.00 per song to learn these to cover my rehearsal study times.
