About Roisin Ban

Ceilidh band
Pontefract
Public liability insurance of £1 million
Roisin Ban are a trad Irish Celtic folk & ceili band. The line up is a trio of fiddle/mandola, melodeon, guitar/flute, &vocals + caller

Roisin Ban is an acoustic traditional Celtic/Irish Folk & Ceili band. We bring our own PA & soundman so the full band would be 4. Our soundman is also our caller for Ceilis, so for wedding functions etc we can do a combination of some ceili dances along with songs & instrumental items to suit the occasion. Our instrumental line up is: Chris Dyson - band leader, fiddle, octave mandola, vocals Gordon Tyrrall - flute, guitar, vocals Paddy Heffron - melodeon, vocals, sean nos dance (old style Irish dance) Barry Evans - caller, soundman. For a concert type spot the band play a mixture on instrumental items, mostly Irish ie jigs, reels, waltzes & more with a range of folky songs from Ireland, Scotland & England. Roisin Ban is a very accomplished, professional band, well respected on the UK folk scene, having performed at numerous folk festivals in the UK.

Hi Chris, Thanks again for the music and ceilli for James and Daisy’s Wedding. I am arranging a Fund raising Ceilli for Leeds Irish Health and Homes to be held on Saturday 11th November. at Immaculate heart Church Hall. Would you and the band and caller be able to play for us?
