Customer questions
What do your clients love most about your performances?
I am able to read the vibe, bringing emotion to the forefront of my playing.
I can switch seamlessly between slow and fast tunes to keep the crowd engaged and having fun.
People love to sing along when I play well known, very popular songs.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
Edinburgh, Stirling and many more Castles
Sir Andy Murray's Cromlix Hotel (Resident Piper)
Many high class whisky distilleries
The Capitol Theatre Horsham
The Queen's Hall Edinburgh
Crieff Highland Games
Resident piper of most Glasgow City Centre pubs such as The Ark Bar, The Piper, Drouthy's, Cairn's, Rhoderick Dhu.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
My best friend, James and I love playing bagpipes together and are always giving each other tips on playing, and how to market our bagpiping businesses. We will always be there for each other if in the last minute either of us can no longer make an event.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
Sir Andy Murray's private family event
The Queen's Jubilee celebrations in Horsham infront of hundreds
Opening #1 UK podcast JaackMaate's Happy Hour Live Tour Show
Playing to welcome visitors from China who had purchased a £1 million Hogshead cask of macallan 1989 whisky stored in Craigellachie, and had come for their first taste.
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know, hopefully I can accommodate.
How much time do you need to set up?
20-40 minutes.
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
Of course, I love getting input from clients, however, if you would rather leave it up to me, I have great experience in reading the room and playing the best tune that suits at the moment.
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
Yes, bagpipes and sharp modern dress!
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
Yes I can, I love learning new tunes, however I may charge for the time it takes me to learn them. Some bagpipe tunes can be simple to learn with sheet music and audio to listen to. Some more modern songs can be really difficult and sometimes don't work on the pipes.

Have Robin perform for your guests arriving before the ceremony right through to the meal. I will:
Play as all your guests are arriving. Then play as the bride or groom walks down the aisle to a song of your choice. I will play within the ceremony while the register is being signed and then play a celebratory tune, marching in-front of the married couple as they leave the ceremony.
I will then play a quick fun tune as you two walk through your confetti tunnel and entertain the guests by playing a 20 minute set at the drinks reception.
I will then play as everyone arrives and goes into the meal venue. We will then march around all the tables together, finally arriving at the top table where I will thank you for having me, and you may choose to provide a toast to the piper.
Looking forward to it!
Robin.
