Riot Quartet

Violins: Ning-Ning Li & Helena Britten Viola: Lizze Chan-Foxley Cello: Sara Gale . All members are Honours graduates from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Riot Quartet are a Birmingham/London based string quartet which enjoys playing and performing an eclectic mix of music. They formed in 2016 and since then have been working throughout the UK & Europe with various different artists and producers. The quartet is made up of Ning-Ning Li, Helena Britten, Lizze Chan-Foxley and Sara Gale. All four members graduated from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, with the focus always being on enjoying all music they can find. Notably they have performed with Xhosa Cole as part of his ‘Charcole Collective’, as well as the singer songwriters Rosie Tee and Billy Doze. They play a rich variety of genres from pop at weddings and corporate events, to classical and contemporary. They have also recorded strings for producers such as Gerry Parchment and Carlos Lellis at the infamous Abbey Road Studios. As individuals they have toured around the country with bands such as The Mourning Suns, Joe Broughton's Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, Boat to Row, Threaded & more, having also performed at venues and festivals such as Glastonbury, Hay Festival, Shambala, Green Man, Kendall Calling, Blissfields, The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Town Hall Symphony Hall and many more. They are always on the hunt for new projects to delve into but above all else, they believe in having fun and discovering new music to explore and play!
