Raphael Colman studied music at Magdalene College, Cambridge. Prior to that, he spent one year at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he studed cello with Josephine Knight. He was the proud recipient of the Lincoln prize for music, and of a College Scholarship for his academic work. He has performed as a soloist with the Harrow School Symphony orchestra, and the Collegium Ensemble in Cambridge. He is currently a member of the Ungdomsinfonikerne, and in the past has played with the Royal Academy Concert Orchestra and the University of London Symphony Orchestra. On top of his commitments as a cellist, Raphael was also the Organ Scholar of Magdalene College, and regularly accompanied and conducted the college choir. He is currently a computer programmer, freelancing occasionally as a musician.
