Rachel James Sax Duo

Our chilled covers bring a warm, stylish atmosphere to weddings, drinks receptions, bars, restaurants and laid-back celebrations. We use live looping and improvisation to add our own take on well-known cover songs, allowing us to take inspiration from the night and curate unique experiences on each occasion. Audiences can enjoy watching the loops be created in the moment, as the band build musical soundscapes that are vibey, adaptive and responsive to your guests' interests. The combination of female and male vocals, topped off by smokey improvs on the tenor sax, makes this band unique in its range and ability to create background music that has texture and class. We (Rachel and James) met at conservatoire- a specialist music university for young talented musicians (the guildhall school of music and drama in central london) and have developed a broad range of performance experience, from opera in Beijing to performing at All Points East Festival. Both are multi-instrumentalists, with James writing and producing music and Rachel performing across classical and jazz styles. We have been close friends for over 15 years, which translates to a natural, effortless camaraderie and connection on stage. We are the perfect choice for a low-key background band. We won't steal the spotlight; instead, we will enhance it and keep your event relaxing and enjoyable. We believe the quality of the music is the most important factor in a band, and are proud to be able to weave our talents into a unique sound paired with well-known songs.
