Phil

The Chris Moy Band is an established high quality covers band that plays regularly. Because we are only a three-piece you can't hide behind anything and drums are integral to our sound. Phil stepped in at short notice to play a series of gigs while our regular drummer took some time out. We only had time for one rehearsal before the first gig. Phil did his homework on the set-list and asked the right questions at the rehearsal. He quickly picked our groove and the nuances (e.g. our own additions and variations) of the songs and I felt confident he would be fine at the first gig. He was and he brough energy and groove. He listened carefully and watched carefully for any stage direction. We were able to relax as soon as he started playing. He is also reliable, turns up on time and mucks in.

Phil is a fantastic drummer with a great imagination for creating original drum parts with a very musical approach and style. Since meeting him in early 2019 he has since become the backbone and permanent member of my band. From our first show together in Belfast June 2019,the recording of my 2nd EP and the many subsequent live events/shows he never fails to impress with his solid and professional performances.
