Pharaoh & the Beats are an Essex based function band who joined together in 2015 and have recently relocated to Devon! The band has six members consisting of Leanne (Lead Vocals), Emma (Vocals), Gareth (Guitar), Charlie (Bass), Jerome (Keys) & Stacy (Drums) and now also including a brass section with trumpet, saxophone and tenor sax! The band perform covers consisting of pop, rock, soul and funk ranging from the 60's 'til now. They perform for weddings, parties, corporate functions and provide a fun and bubbly atmosphere, happily taking requests prior to the event. They also perform as a 2-piece acoustic duo called Pharaoh, which works well for smaller locations or during a wedding breakfast. They are also happy to perform during ceremonies if required. We are so happy that we made the decision to book Pharoah & The Beats for our wedding on the 3/09/22. Our guests are still talking about how good the band were 2 weeks later. We knew from the early stages of planning we wanted a band and fortunately the band were able to make our rearranged date. They stayed in touch throughout what would become nearly 21/2 years since making the booking and responded to our questions throughout the time period. They even went the extra mile and learnt our first dance song as it wasn’t one which they had played together before. They were fantastic on the night, the dance floor stayed full and they even let a few of our guests get up and perform with them. We were married in Yorkshire with the band coming from Essex’s. Everyone at first wondered why we hadn’t gone more local, but once the band started playing they understood. Would recommend to anyone wanting a band who can perform songs across the decades.

Last nght we had the pleaseure of working with the band. We provided the stage sound and lighting for the Castor Festival. The band were great to work with, very profesional , easy going and just all round nice people. As a 9 peice band they have a great sound teriffic harmonies through great backing vocals, something so often missing in bands. They proved a real hit with the audience and engaged in banter with the crowd making their sets all the more enjoyable. Top marks and I am very happy to offer them my recomendation

We had Leanne & Gareth play at our wedding reception this weekend. We first heard them playing at a wedding fayre held at our venue & as soon as I walked in & heard them I knew I wanted to book them !! Leanne has the most beautiful voice & so easy to listen to it was definitely one of the best bits of our day :-) I would highly recommend these guys to anyone !!! What do your clients love most about your performances?

We think they love the fact that we interact with them. We like to work off the audience and let them know that we are having as much fun as they are.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Some of the venues we have performed at in the past are Hampton Court House, Parklands Quendon Hall, High Barn, Herons Farm, Tuffon Hall, South Farm, to name a few.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

As a covers band, we play a complete variety which is a bit of everything the band like, and also that we know the audience will like. We try to include something from each era, and we are constantly adding to our repertoire. These influences could be anything from Beyoncé to Tina Turner, Sam Smith and Bruno Mars to Stevie Wonder.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We always use the same lead singer and strive to make sure the rest of the line-up that you see, is what you get on the night. We do have pre-auditioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band, our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard lineup is Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals, Guitar, Keys, Bass and Drums. We can offer a 9-piece option (to include brass), 4-piece (which excludes backing vocals & keys), as well as an acoustic duo called 'Pharaoh' (one singer and acoustic guitar).

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problem, please get in contact as soon as you know of any time changes. We understand that things can change for events, so we try to be as flexible as possible.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we offer a complimentary iPod/DJ service via our PA until 11pm. We can continue after this time for an extra charge or discuss a DJ add-on option.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually allow around 1-1.5 hours before performance time to set up and sound check. If you need us to set up slightly earlier to avoid being in the way of guests, we are happy to discuss this with you and work with you as best we can.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests are up and dancing and having an amazing time. We are, however, happy for you to voice any major 'No no's' to ensure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, PA and lighting are included within the quote, and we generally require a minimum of 6 x 4 metres of space to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, we'll happily learn 1 unique song choice for your occasion as a complimentary service in all our quotes. If you'd like any extra songs thereafter, there is a fee of £50 per song to take into account rehearsal times etc.
