Peter Shepherd

Peter Shepherd is a pianist, organist and composer. Since 2020 the Assistant Organist at Paisley Abbey, and previously Director of Music at Bothwell Parish Church, he was the organist-in-residence at St Mark's Church in Florence from 2016-2017. From 2013-16, he was organ scholar at Merton College Oxford. He became an FRCO in 2014 as well as also gaining the LRSM with distinction on the piano in the same year. He has performed extensively as an accompanist and organist, having performed many recitals in Oxford as well as Southwark, Bristol and Hereford Cathedrals, as well as across continental Europe. He has played continuo for the London Mozart Players, Oxford Baroque and Opera Dei Lumi. He has studied organ with William Whitehead, James Parsons and Christopher Allsop, and has had piano instruction from Leslie Howard and Malcolm Martineau. As a composer, Peter has written pieces for choir, solo piano and organ and chamber ensembles. His first full-length musical was produced in Oxford in January 2016.
