Owen Blythe

Born in the heart of Leicestershire, with little to do in a sleepy village, I developed a deep connection to music from an early age, exploring soundscapes through multiple instruments, starting as a drummer and singer, later picking up Guitar, Bass and Piano. I realised in my teens that there was a certain soulful quality to my voice that resonated with audiences and took the route of becoming a lead singer amongst other instrumental ventures. Having played in multiple rock, jazz, indie and funk bands since I was 11 years old, I have accumulated thousands of hours of performing to crowds of all shapes and sizes. Before deciding to move to Leeds in 2020 to study Music at the Conservatoire, I was a student of Aerospace Engineering in Swansea. It was ultimately my passion and drive for music that led me to leaving the path to an assured career in a stable, profitable industry, and that passion is ever growing. In 2020, I joined Royal Caribbean on their crew manifest as a guest entertainer and have since played around the world in 'Beatles Celebration'. Over the past couple of years, while completing my degree in Music and operating as a solo singer/guitarist, I have also performed in the Duo, 'Martini Police', playing function gigs predominantly in the north of England. We have developed a strong reputation in the industry and are regulars at several venues, being hired for many private parties and weddings around these gigs. I am also one third of the new-wave dance/disco group 'Honey Trap', as the lead singer and drummer, building our name as an original artist, with successful Spotify releases and shows around Leeds and Bristol. With my performances, my goal is always to let the music talk. I tap into the muse and find joy and soul in the music. Bringing that to any room I perform in is my skill. I try to create an atmosphere that is the foundation for good times! Having curated an extensive repertoire of hit songs, I'm able to put my own spin on great tunes to make them mine and engage an audience, along with the ability to take on requests to fulfil people's desires. My catalogue of songs pushes towards the upbeat end of the spectrum, as I believe the best times are created through fun, energetic music that you can dance to! I do however have a soft spot for the slower, romantic styles too, but I always play to the room! Whether it's for your gran, your mates, or your special someone, I can provide the right vibe for any occasion.
