I am a recent music graduate from Uni of York but have been sing-songwriting from as early as 11. Music has always been a great source of passion for m. I grew up with my dad playing the piano as a child and knew that this instrument was meant for me. As I grew older and more skilled at the piano, my compositions started to become more imaginative and complex. I love writing simple yet effective melodies that succinctly express what I can't into words. I also have an affinity for classical piano, finding it so rewarding to express the music of a great composer with my own hands. Having achieved a distinction at Grade 8 and teaching myself guitar throughout my university experience, my songwriting and musicianship is beginning to blossom into what I want it to be. My musical highlights include open mics in York where the room would fall silent as I sang my original songs. I performed in accapella choirs and conducted for a few chamber groups during my studies. I also hosted a private concert where I performed my diploma repertoire including Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique, which was a pivotal moment for me. Music impassions me. I love involving myself in new, creative styles and ways of twisting musical elements to become my own. I love composing lyrics that poetically express my feelings into gentle words. To perform it is the greatest thing.
