Niall O'Flaherty-Lynch

I have helped enhance dozens of weddings, funerals, birthdays, and other celebrations as a solo pianist over the past years. My knowledge and ability to play a variety of styles mean that I am able to guide people through music choices and steer their evening in the way that they would like. I am a musical director who has experience with both amateur drama societies and professional level productions. I am used to being a repetiteur and conducting from the keyboard, as well as giving direction to an accompanist with a baton in my hand. I am a co-founder of Miscast Belfast and through this have increased the amount of music happening in and around Belfast and Northern Ireland. We are a musical theatre event where people sign up to sing, with live piano accompaniment from myself. I specialise in accompaniment and my sight-reading is at an extremely high level. I have 15 years worth of experience accompanying singers and musicians for examinations (both in school and for Graded Examinations / Diplomas and Licentiate examinations) festivals, feiseanna, and everything in between. My years of experience mean that I am able to work quickly and effectively with people of all ages. I have experience of everything from Grade 1 up to Licenciate Examinations, and have a proven track record of guiding candidates through the Quick Study sections in Musical Theatre examinations. I am an official accompanist for both Newry Feis and Warrenpoint Feis and am on the list of accompanists for the Queen's University Belfast Undergraduate and Post Graduate music pathways. Another facet of my musicality is that I am also an experienced session musician. This has taken the form of playing piano / keyboard / synthesizer for dozens of musical theatre productions across Ireland, including work for NI Opera, St Agnes' Choral Society, and Peter Corry Productions.
