Morrigan’s Bow are an energetic, fast-paced folk duo from Manchester. Formed by traditional fiddle player and professional violinist Jack Mitchell In 2021 with Charley Wheelan-Hicks joining later to complete their signature sound with his driving acoustic guitar rhythms and powerful tenor voice. Morrigan’s Bow offer a different type of show than is regularly seen on the circuit with a mixture of fast English and Irish folk tunes and pop and rock hits that every crowd will enjoy. Jack Mitchell studied music at the Liverpool institute for performing arts where he graduated in 2020. He is a life long violinist and fiddle player with over twenty years of experience. He is a multi instrumentalist with several instruments learned to a high level. In Morrigan’s Bow he plays energetic and lively fiddle lines, driving foot percussion, and provides backing vocals with his deep baritone. Charley Wheelan-Hicks is a relatively new addition to their lineup, and Morrigan’s Bow had never quite sounded the way it was envisioned before his arrival, he brought some real magic and energy to the project and has a fantastic synergy on stage with Mitchell. His soaring tenor voice and technical rhythm guitar skills have truly brought the project to life.

Morigans Bow have become a staple of the sound of St Patrick's day at the Highball Club. The truly electric atmosphere they manage to carve out in the sea such a 'full on' environment is truly impressive. Easily blending contemporary sounds and styles with the vigor, personality and energy needed to hold a room that's full to the brim, is something that needs to be experienced to be believed. Easily one of the more professional acts we employ, Morigans Bow are a total pleasure to work with. Whether it be down to the great communication we have when booking in shows or the effortlessness shown when problems arise during a show, I'd recommend anyone to check out what these guys can do.

Jack and Charley played at my birthday party last year and they went down an absolute storm. Really different to most of what you see and quality players as well as the nicest pair of lads. 10/10 would recommend them to anyone.
