Jamie McGough

Music has been a core part of my life from a very young age. I began playing the piano at 5 years old and the flute at age 10, where I was promted by my teachers to regularly enter classical music competitions. This early passion led me to spend over five years performing as part of the senior orchestra at Soar Valley Music Centre. During that time, I had the opportunity to tour internationally, performing in France, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands. A key moment in my musical journey was winning the Rotary Young Musician Award in 2016 for the East Midlands region, where I performed an original composition on the piano. Following my extracurricular musical success, I decided to pursue further studies in music at college. This is where I explored a variety of musical genres and styles, broadening my approach to composition and performance. In 2017, I reached the televised final of the UK Songwriting Competition, where I had the privilege of performing at Dingwalls in front of a live audience of hundreds. After I completed my studies I performed at weddings, playing both original compositions and cover songs. Alongside performing, I have dedicated much of my time to teaching and helping others develop their own musical skills. Most recently, I have had the incredible experience of performing onboard two Disney Cruise Line ships. This unforgettable opportunity pushed me to further develop my repertoire and gain invaluable experience as a professional musician. As a seasoned session musician, I continue to evolve, always seeking new opportunities to share my music.
