Mike currently lives in Dublin and teaches guitar at his own school of music in Dublin, Ireland. He enjoys composing for his Jazz/Contemporary music ensembles and performs with ‘The Mike Brookfield Band’ which is an original Blues/Rock band in the style of Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Bruce Springsteen. He also plays with ‘Holly & The Go Lights’ which he runs with his wife and acclaimed singer Gráinne Brookfield.
Mike has performed with Rod Stewart, Ronan Keating, Boyzone, Westlife, Brian Kennedy, Olly Murs, Robin Gibb, Atomic Kitten, Jason Donovan, Gilbert O’Sullivan, Lisa Stansfield, Luane Parle, Enrique Iglasias, Sophie Ellis Baxter, Lionel Ritchie, Sinead O’Connor, Kathrine Jenkins, Charlie Pride, Andy Abrahams, Shane Ward, Lulu, Alison Moyet, Melody Gardot.
Mike has worked as a Music Co-ordinator, Arranger and Musical Director for RTE, Irelands national TV station.
Mike Brookfield has performed professionally as a guitarist since 1989, starting his career in London’s West End where he appeared in The Sound of Fury, Four Steps to Heaven and Elvis the Musical.
