The Melrose String Quartet played at our 30th wedding anniversary celebration in June, a garden party. They played folk, pop and jazz tunes, including some of our favourites which made the event even more special. They played wonderfully and really made the party a success. We'd definitely hire them again, they were easy to deal with, very organised, but above all their music was just great!

Melrose string quartet provided a wonderful service for my recent birthday celebrations. As guests arrived to the reception area, they were treated to beautifully-played renditions of my favourite pop songs and an exceptional performance of Joe Hisaishi’s ‘One Summer’s Day’! Everyone commented on how lovely they sounded, and the special atmosphere they were able to create. As a plus to their talented music playing, they were also extremely friendly and kind. I would highly highly recommend and will book again for future events!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our guests love our range of familiar music and the sophisticated atmosphere that our string quartet brings to any every event!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Kimpton Clocktower Hotel and The Temple of Apollo in Stourhead National Trust Park

Do you have different line-up options?

We recommend our full line up of a string quartet including two violins, a viola and a cello. We can also play as a trio, duet or solo musician with and without backing tracks (all PA equipment included).

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually arrive about 1 hour before the performance time and take about 30 mins to set up, get to know the hosts and the space.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, we all bring our own instruments to play acoustically. If we are playing solo with backing tracks, we will bring our own PA system.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

During our consultation call, we are very happy to discuss a special song you'd like us to learn and we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £40 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
