Melissa Morris

Melissa is a freelance pianist, composer, arranger and artist based in Birmingham and is Co-Founder and Artistic Director at Room Art. Melissa is at home playing both solo piano, with repertoire tailor made to suit your special occasion, or can be booked as an accompanist should you wish to have piano with violin, woodwind, brass, electronics or even contemporary dance for that extra flair for your corporate event! If there is a special tune or music that you would like to have at your special occasion, do let me know and it can usually be sourced and played on the big day. I am also able to take requests on the day, making your experience even more tailor made and exclusive for you and your guests. I'm happy to arrange whatever you need to make your day extra special, an informal consultation will provide all the information I need and is available for you to discuss all options. *Please note, the repertoire list here is not comprehensive, but acts as an indication of the repertoire covered. Melissa’s performance and artistic interests reflect the diversity of her education and experiences, particularly in the exchange of culture and artistic collaborations. Following scholarships to study in both the Liszt Academy in Weimer and in Budapest, Melissa returned to Birmingham to engage in the artistic endeavors of the city, performing as recitalist whilst working for Birmingham Opera Company, Birmingham Royal Ballet, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, DanceXchange, Elmhurst Ballet School and The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Melissa also runs an Art Gallery and Music Venue, which explores new works and collaborations. Most recently Melissa composed and premiered the interrelated arts work “Incidental” at Warwick Arts Centre and is currently in collaboration with DJ’s EIF for their new EP and with Vanhulle Dance Theatre working on a new piece “Storm”. Melissa has her own equipment included in the fee which includes a top quality professional stage piano with amplification if required, all recently PAT tested. Melissa is happy to play on pianos already at the venue if they are suitable or if you would prefer to rent a beautiful grand piano or upright piano for the ultimate authentic sound, this can be arranged.
