I completed my training at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2004 and am now a freelance pianist living and working in Stourbridge and the West Midlands. I cover Stourbridge, Kinver, Dudley, Birmingham, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and play regularly for weddings at Hagley Hall. I also play further afield, so please feel free to make an enquiry as I have a car to get to you. My experience has encompassed playing the piano in almost every performance scenario imaginable including accompaniment, solo recitals, orchestral piano, chamber music, piano teaching, funerals and wakes, christenings and playing for weddings and engagement parties. I offer an extremely versatile, and professional service whether you require piano accompaniment for ABRSM exams and end of year recitals, or are seeking to complement your special day with the warm ambience of Jazz and the Rat Pack; I'm the person to call. In addition, I also have a full size electronic keyboard supplied at no extra charge should your chosen venue not have a piano. My service includes a free no obligations demonstration at my home which many past wedding couples have enjoyed and you will be sure to receive a warm welcome.

Matt played for our wedding Ceremony in September 2022 and it was perfect! From the day we found Matt on encore to the day of the wedding he was nothing but kind to us and when we had our video chat he played exactly what we wanted just straight away, he is the most perfect musician to have ar your event and we can’t recommend him enough! Nothing was too much trouble and he sorted himself out with the venue with no interruption to our day, he then stayed to congratulate us before packing us and leaving. Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

As long as the actual day of your event doesn’t change suddenly, I can be flexible with this up to the day before your ceremony or event. I understand that things sometimes happen beyond anyone’s control, so feel free to get in touch should you need to, and let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I believe that I could arrange this, although this has never been necessary before as I am never usually far away from the piano! Any breaks that I take as part of any potential contract will be no longer than 10 minutes long.

How much time do you need to set up?

Ideally, I need half an hour to set up. It can be done a lot more quickly, but in the event I need to set up equipment, I normally need to check sound levels and make sure that it is all works correctly and safely.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Yes by all means, as it saves me having to bring my own equipment! I would only ask that the piano in question is tuned and in excellent working order - I should not like anyone’s perfect moment to be ruined by out tune piano playing!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes! This can actually help me to give you the best experience and tailor the vibe to how you would like. Again, please do get in touch if there is something specific that you would like to hear

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes. I have a Roland Privia stage piano and amp which is perfect for background music and playing for any big moments like walking down the aisle.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, I am happy to take any requests before your event. I can also take any request on the day, but cannot guarantee to be able to honour it! Having said that, I have been able to play 99% of requests at past weddings and parties. If your special song happens to be one I don’t know, I can still learn it, but I would ask that you supply PDF sheet in advance.
