Matt is a guitarist renowned for his versatile and quirky musical style which can go from sensitive, heartfelt and ballad-like to blinding and virtuosic and delightfully outrageous. A natural ear for music, he stays true to it, and puts self-indulgence in the back seat. With years of live performance and recording experience in a variety of styles such as Rock, Blues, Pop, Jazz, Classical, Latin, Reggae and even some ceilidh, Matt is currently one of the line up for Hire A Band's busiest function group in Scotland, playing close to 100 gigs in 2016 and performing in a variety of entertainment functions and settings. A graduate of the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey, he has gained extensive knowledge of the guitar as well music theory, proficiency in sight reading, ear training, improvisation and live performance, which somewhat puts the official stamp on his unique, individual approach to his main love, the guitar.
