Dear Guy, I’m really glad you enjoyed the performance — it was our pleasure to be part of your event. I’m also very sorry about the mistake with the booking. I was working at three events on the same day with the Trio and unfortunately got confused. I’ve just realised that you booked four performers, so of course we will refund the amount that was overcharged. I’d also like to explain what happened with the performance. We arrived at 4:30pm and waited in the car park because the performance was a surprise. We were ready to play at 5:30pm, which was the time we were contracted to start. The event coordinator then told us that you were running approximately 30 minutes behind schedule. I explained to her that, unfortunately, we couldn’t stay later than 6:30pm, as we had another event in Central London at 8:30pm. We had already allowed extra time for the journey because of the traffic. We really wanted to play the song you had specifically requested. I’m sorry that we didn’t manage to do it. I had the lyrics with me as I hadn’t been able to learn all of them, but then we were suddenly asked to move outside the room. I didn’t realise that my music stand had been left inside the tipi, as I had given it to one of the waitresses. The ground outside was also quite uneven, and by the time we continued with the rest of the playlist, unfortunately we had run out of time to include everything we had planned. I’m genuinely sorry that we weren’t able to deliver everything exactly as you had expected, and I completely understand your disappointment.
