She is a composer, violinist, singer, computer musician, clarinettist, and pianist, with interests in composition, computer music and creative programming, acoustics, and mathematics. Magdalena has performed internationally (singing in the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod); she has performed for various music festivals (Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Eisteddfod), radio and TV shows (various BBC radio and TV, Real radio), musical theatre productions (performances at the Alhambra theatre), and performs with professional ensembles (currently with the Edinburgh Contemporary Music Ensemble (ECME) and LSTwo).

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I have had people let me know they have been inspired to play the violin after I have performed, which is a very nice comment to hear. People love how I get into the music and convey not only the music, but the emotions too. They have always commented on the tone and particularly the vibrato.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have performed internationally at various prestigious venues across France and the UK. I have performed for the Pope, for various BBC radio and TV, in various well known festivals, such as Llangollen International Eistedfodd, and Edinburgh Fringe festival, and in various prestigous cathedrals, such as St. Anne's Cathedral and Westminster Cathedral.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I am influenced by all genres and all styles of music! This influences me compositionally and as I perform as a violinist. With regards to violinists, I am inspired by musicians such as Itzhak Perlman, Paganini, Kreisler, Wieniawski, Kreutzer, Nicola Benedetti, Vengerov, and David Garret, to name but a few.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I have performed for Pope Benedict XVI for the beatification of Cardinal Newman in 2010.

Do you have different line-up options?

I can play solo violin, play to backing tracks, and/ include pedals for some electronic music effects. I have a wireless PA system with a microphone (perfect for outdoor events!) I can play the electric violin too but I don't own an electric violin and would need to hire one.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

As long as you update within a month of the event date, it should be fine. If I'm required to play longer, my fees would increase depending on how much that would be. If the event has changed to a different date, I may not be able to perform if I am booked for another event that day. Message for more information.

How much time do you need to set up?

15 minutes to set up and tune my violin. 30 minutes if I'm using a PA. I usually arrive about an hour in advance of performances (free of charge).

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes. You may also request any pieces and I will let you know if I am able to learn them in time for your event. Message for more information!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instrument to play acoustically, and PA system if requested and required.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in my song list there may still be a chance I already know it. I'm happy to learn requests as long as they are made with plenty of notice (deadline being a month before the event). If it's a particularly tricky piece that requires a lot of rehearsal, there may be a £30 fee per tricky piece. This would be communicated beforehand.
