Lynda is a classically trained flautist and singer.
As a musician with a range of experience she currently sings with the acclaimed Cantorian Sirenian Singers and Chester St Cecilia Singers, she also enjoys solo and chamber ensemble performance.
Lynda graduated from the London College of Music where she studied with Patricia Lynden and Simon Hunt. She also received chamber music coaching from Edward Blakeman and choral coaching from John Chapman. Lynda went on to gain her MA at Bangor University, Wales where she studied composition with Bill Connor and electro-acoustic composition with Professor Andrew Lewis.
Lynda has taken part in flute master classes with (the late) Geoffrey Gilbert, William Bennett, Trevor Wye, Edward Blakeman, Kate Hill, Claire Southworth, and vocal master classes at Bangor University with John Huw Davies.
Over many years Lynda has performed both as a flautist and a singer in numerous and very varied concerts. From flute and vocal solos, various chamber ensembles, to larger symphony orchestras, pit orchestras, various choruses and choirs.
She has also had the good fortune and opportunity to perform with some leading figures of classical music.
• Lynda has played flute with James Galway and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican Concert Hall in John Corigliano’s Pied Piper Fantasy
• She played in the orchestra for a concert with Bryn Terfel at Bangor University’s PJ Hall for S4C and again in Pwhelli where he sang Haydn’s The Creation.
• Lynda performed at a gala evening at the Barbican Concert Hall in the presence of Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Gloucester; singing in the choir and playing in the chamber ensemble the Lyndhurst Wind Quintet, performing alongside John Lill, Julian Lloyd Webber and John McCabe
• Lynda gave a recital with the Lyndhurst Wind Quintet for the composer John McCabe
