Loshn Klezmer Band is a three-piece Klezmer ensemble exploring the traditional music of Ashkenazi Jewish culture. Bringing together three of the UK’s leading Klezmer musicians, their interpretation and arrangement of old repertoire see their music speak, sing and dance with the tradition’s distinct Yiddish accent and vocabulary. Additionally, the Band collaborates regularly with one of the UK’s finest Roma musicians – Cimbalom virtuoso Janos Kallai. They explore commonalities between Roma and Klezmer music and insight into how Klezmer music would have sounded in the past when Cimbalom was still a key instrument in this music. Because of the corona lockdown we could not have a regular party for my wifes 65th, so as a surprise I asked John and Anna to play in our front garden. They were perfect! They even learned and played a beautiful version of the South African national anthem (Nkosi sikilele). Neighbours came to listen and dance (keeping social distance). We recommend them highly.

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes! We usually play as a trio Clarinet, Fidl and Accordion But also collaborate with Roma Cimbalom maestro Janos Kallai - Clarinet, Fidle Cimbalom We can also do duo concerts, either Clarinet or Fidl, with either Accordion or Cimbalom

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Let us know as soon as possible and we will try our best to acommodate you

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

How much time do you need to set up?

Usually 60-90minutes is adequate

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes we can do roaming with our Clarinet/Fidl/Accordion lineup

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

You can request specific tunes which we know

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We can bring a PA or amplification, but need travel covered. We don't provide lighting
