About Lloyd

Superb LED saxophonist - will light up your wedding, birthday or hen party with his dazzling sax and glittering music!
Saxophonist
Cardiff
Public liability insurance of £10 million
Verified profile

Lloyd's superb solo sax act (with backing tracks or DJ) is perfect for all parts of your wedding day or other celebration. Choose from upbeat sets of electro/Ibiza hits played on a LED sax (guaranteed to get everyone up dancing!) or laid-back sets of light pop and jazz standards. Lloyd's price includes a fantastic sound engineer who supplies a sound system to suit your venue and ensure the perfect sound. A radio mic enables Lloyd to mix with the crowd and join the party! For outdoor or mobile events (e.g. boat trips), Lloyd provides a large battery pack so is able to play in areas without mains electricity. For weddings, Lloyd offers a range of packages including music for the ceremony, reception and after-dinner party. Highly versatile, Lloyd can also provide a jazz quartet (Just4Kicks), function/cover band (Rock the Mike) and chilled sax/piano duo (Two's Company). Lloyd will shortly complete a MMus in woodwind performance (saxophones, clarinets and flutes) at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and has a first class BMus Hons from Cardiff University. He is fast making a name for himself by playing at countless weddings and club nights in the South Wales, South West and Midlands areas. He made his debut on the West End Stage in December 2020 in A Christmas Carol with the London Musical Theatre Orchestra, and has also performed in the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall (New York), and on S4C.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My clients love it when I move around while playing, and sometimes join in with the dancing on the dance floor.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Royal Albert Hall, London Carnegie Hall, New York Tramshed, Cardiff Depot, Cardiff St Audries Estate, Taunton Eynsham Hall, Taunton Kingscote Barn, Tetbury The Angel Hotel, Cardiff National Museum of Wales, Cardiff The Celtic Manor Resort, Newport Mercure Holland House Hotel and Spa, Cardiff Grand Pavillion, Porthcawl The Bootlegger, Cardiff

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

So many! In terms of my pop sax gigs, then Michael Brecker or David Sandborn have been massive influence on my style. Jazz-wize it's got to be John Coltrane and Charlie Parker. But, to be honest, it all goes back to Bach, doesn't it!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Probably either the Royal Albert Hall in London, or Carnegie Hall in New York! Amazing to be a small part of those venues vast history!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I am a flexible person, and will always do my best to accommodate your needs.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely - I have several pre-made playlists, perfect for any occasion or atmosphere!

How much time do you need to set up?

This depends on the gig! If I'm playing acoustically, there is minimum set-up - just 10 minutes or so to warm up before playing. If I'm playing Ibiza style electro sax with a DJ, I need 45 mins to set up the PA and radio mic and liaise with the DJ, if appropriate.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

The set list is a guide. Please let me know your favourites, and I will do my best to include these.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I do.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Always happy to learn new songs!

This lovely band played at the Cardiff Uni MLang Ball and it was so, so good! All 124 of us were on the dance floor having an absolute blast. The guys were very accommodating and super-friendly when it came to sorting out all the details. It made the ball so much more special to have some brilliant live music. Thank you!

If you're looking for classy background music, Two's Company is just what you need. I booked this duo for a business celebration, and everyone wanted to know where I'd found them. Really hoping we have another business deal to celebrate so I can book them again!
