Liza Rakovska

Ukrainian born harpist Liza Rakovska is an undergraduate student at the Royal College of Music in London, studying harp with Ieuan Jones. She is an honorary recipient of the Neville Wathen Scholar. After recognition in her native country, made her debut at the international competition in Italy "Suoni d`Arpa" at the age of 13, where she won first place and her first harp by the famous company Salvi. Since then, she wins famous harp competitions in Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia, Lithuania, Georgia and Ukraine every year. Liza studied harp from the age of 6 at the Kharkiv State Music Lyceum (Ukraine) with professor Larysa Klevcova. During her years of study, she actively participated in all top musical events in her country. From the age of 7 she was always a prize-winner in all international harp competitions. She graduated with honors, showing herself to be an excellent soloist, chamber and orchestral musician with a diverse wide repertoire. From the age of 14 she repeatedly soloed with the leading Ukrainian Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Yuri Yanko. Liza participates annually as a guest in the main International Music Festival of Ukraine "Music is our common home." She is a laureate of the EMCY award, which defines Liza as an actively developing young musician. In 2019, Liza won the oldest European competition Concertino Praga and successfully soloed with Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra in Rudolfinum. As a result, she had a solo tour in various cities of Czech Republic. She took master-classes with Chantal Mathieu, Emanuela Degli Esposti, Ieuan Jones, Claire Jones, Gwyneth Wentink, Merve Kocabeyler, Veronika Lemishenko and actively continues to develop musical taste and master new modern areas of art.
