Leannán is an accomplished acoustic duo, weaving intimate tales of enduring love, loss and life, into a gentle tapestry of stories to nourish the soul. Greater than the sum of their parts, Leannán take songs that inspire them and well-crafted original compositions to impart a powerful musical intimacy. The name Leannán, derived from the Gaelic word for beloved or lovers, is well chosen for the real-life couple Amy Gray and Stephen Jones, who definitely wear their heart on their musical sleeve. Their chemistry is palpable as they take listeners on a melodic journey through a range of eclectic genres. Inspired by a blend of singer songwriter, folk, Americana and country, Leannán perfectly balances interwoven vocal harmonies with mesmerising acoustic guitar to create their own magical story that will leave you wanting more. Created in a year of lockdown and enforced separation, Leannán allowed a new couple separated by circumstance to reach out to one another. Initially a way of nurturing a new relationship, it quickly grew in to a real musical appreciation. Our debut album, Reverie, which was originally created just for family and friends, stands as a defiant unwillingness to let physical distance create emotional distance. At the other side of lockdown, Leannán has used the space wisely. Writing original songs; recording a new album and single; appearing on BBC Radio Leicester and a string of other stations locally and further afield; and working as gigging musicians throughout the Midlands, performing in pubs, cafés, festivals, weddings and events, Leannán has been building on decades of musical experience to develop something truly special. Leannán has developed a reputation for delivering high-quality, intimate performances designed to draw the audience in, building great relationships with venues, and enjoying well-received performances wherever we play.
