LUU Music Society

Leeds University Union Music Society, better known as LUUMS, is one of the biggest music and performance societies within LUU, with almost 300 members from all universities in Leeds! The society is home to 11 different musical ensembles, to suit any kind of event, with opportunities for instrumentalists & singers of all skill levels. We have 4 auditioned ensembles: - Chamber Choir - String Orchestra - Symphonic Wind Orchestra - Symphony Orchestra And 7 unauditioned ensembles: - Chorus - Composers Collective - Concert Band - Percussion Ensemble - Sinfonia - Symphonic Choir More information on every ensemble & their management teams can be found on their ensemble pages. Throughout the academic year, we hold 3 concert series, giving each ensemble the opportunity to perform the music they have been working on! Many ensembles also hold or participate in additional concerts and performances, such as carolling events during winter! LUUMS members also get the opportunity to perform individually or in their own small ensembles in our solo & chamber showcase dotted throughout the year! After the summer exam period, our auditioned ensembles also go on tour, to countries such as Belgium, Germany & Poland, performing at a variety of venues!
