Scottish-born and now based in Leeds, I am a versatile cellist working across live performance, recording, and events. With a strong foundation in both classical and contemporary styles, I bring adaptability, musical sensitivity, and professionalism to every project—whether in the orchestra pit, the studio, or on stage at private functions. I have extensive experience performing in pit bands for musical theatre, where precision, consistency, and the ability to respond quickly to direction are essential. From large-scale productions to more intimate shows, I’m comfortable navigating demanding scores, tight rehearsal schedules, and the collaborative nature of theatre performance. This work has strengthened my sight-reading, timing, and ensemble skills, making me a reliable and responsive musician in high-pressure environments. Alongside theatre work, I regularly perform at functions and events, providing live music that enhances a wide range of occasions—from weddings and corporate events to private celebrations. I’m experienced in tailoring sets to suit different atmospheres, whether that’s elegant background music or more contemporary, upbeat arrangements. My goal is always to deliver a polished performance that complements the setting and leaves a lasting impression. As a session musician, I’ve contributed to a variety of recording projects, working with artists and producers across genres. I am comfortable recording both remotely and in studio settings, and I pride myself on delivering clean, expressive takes with efficiency and attention to detail. Whether layering strings, adding melodic lines, or contributing to arrangements, I aim to serve the music and bring each project to life. In addition to cello, I am also available for double bass and bass guitar work.
