About Katie

Katie is trained as a classical singer but is also very versatile with jazz and swing classics, liturgical music, and musical theatre too
Opera singer
West Sussex
Public liability insurance of £10 million

atie Brown is a classically trained soprano and versatile vocalist whose rich, expressive voice captivates audiences across a wide range of musical styles. With a First-Class Honours degree in Acting for Film with Music Performance from the University of Chichester Conservatoire — and a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Performance completed in 2024 — Katie brings both artistic depth and academic rigour to every performance. Her vocal journey began in Edinburgh under the guidance of former Scottish Opera soprano Margaret Aronson and continued under the mentorship of acclaimed vocalists Susan Legg, Yvonne Patrick, and Jonathan Veira. In 2022, she was selected for the elite Sussex School of Song, further refining her craft under the tutelage of Patrick and RBC Vocal Tutor Louise Crane. She also trained at the International School of A Cappella with former King's Singer Stephen Connolly, deepening her understanding of blend, harmony, and ensemble sensitivity. This training has led Katie to all sorts of wonderful opportunities such as being invited to sing soprano mass setting, Handel's Gloria, conducted by esteemed musician Andrew Cleary, with his orchestra in Hampshire, and being a featured soloist on Arundel Cathedral's newest Spotify album, Jubilate Deo. More recently, Katie has become a member of the award-winning London Funeral Singers. Katie’s voice is shaped by a commitment to technical excellence, musical intuition, and emotional honesty. With a foundation in classical technique, her repertoire seamlessly spans jazz, swing, musical theatre, sacred music, and more — enabling her to tailor each performance with grace, stylistic fluency, and emotional impact. She has performed as both a soloist and ensemble member in prestigious venues such as Chartres Cathedral, Arundel Cathedral, Goodwood House, and Edinburgh’s Usher Hall. Whether singing at weddings, funerals, private events, or corporate functions, Katie’s focus remains the same: to create a meaningful and memorable musical experience that resonates deeply with each audience. Her performances are more than entertainment — they are heartfelt expressions that uplift, comfort, and celebrate life’s most significant moments. With unwavering professionalism and a deep sense of connection to her craft, Katie Brown continues to make a distinct and lasting contribution to the vocal arts.

a beautiful voice: strong and yet so well controlled as to hide that strength in softness when you want it to, or the piece demands it. Thank you so much for your professionalism.

Katie's Song list

All of me
Embraceable you
S’wonderful
All the things you are
I got rhythm
Zing! went the strings of my heart
Fly me to the moon
My way
Just the way you look tonight
Chattanooga Choo Choo
Don’t sit under the Apple tree
Bewitched bothered and bewildered
Cheek to cheek
Magic moments
Can’t help falling in love with you
We’ll meet again
The white cliffs of Dover
Blue moon
Que sera sera
Don’t rain on my parade
Somewhere over the rainbow
I could have danced all night
If I loved you
A nightingale sang in Berkeley square
Once upon a dream
Hello dolly
I have confidence
Singing in the rain
Part of your world
You’re never fully dressed without a smile
What I did for love
Somewhere
Til there was you
Tonight

Someone like you (Jekyll and Hyde)

Hopelessly devoted to you
Something wonderful
Hello you my lovers
What’ll I do?
I dreamed a dream
Bring him home
A spoonful of sugar

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I take a lot of time when creating set lists to ensure that there is something for everyone. I love to create an engaging atmosphere!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Goodwood House, Arundel Cathedral, Cowdray House, Usher Hall, Chichester Cathedral, Ashdown Park Hotel,

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Lots of people from the 50s onwards - I listen to and learn from a broad range.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Goodwood Festival of Speed

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I will try my absolute best to cater to your timings. Occasionally I may have other commitments that I will have to consider but I will communicate this with you and we can come to a conclusion together.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Of course. Providing you let me know ahead of time what kind of set list you’d like I can pop something on my speaker for you. Alternatively, you may send me your own Spotify playlist to make sure it is exactly what you want. This will cost an additional £25.

How much time do you need to set up?

This depends on the venue and what kind of facilities they have. I will aim to arrive around 45 minutes before I begin to allow time for moving equipment etc.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely. So long as I have at least a weeks notice, this will be fine.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes I do!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If you let me know which song(s) it is, I will take into account whether I will have the time to rehearse it to performance standard by the time of the event. This may not be possible for all songs.
