I love playing music and getting people dancing. That’s what it comes down to for me. I’m Claude, the DJ behind KLAWD, based in Bournemouth and Poole. If you’ve got an idea for a party, I’d love to hear it. You might know exactly what you want, or just have a few favourite tunes and a feeling you’re after. We can work it out together. I’m happy mixing across genres and decades, bringing familiar favourites and unexpected finds into the same night. I also love getting deep into one sound—whether that’s rolling tech house, heavy drum & bass, or a proper funk and soul session. And put an MC alongside me for some heavy 140 BPM grime, and I’m in my element. I have a soft spot for intimate private parties: being close to the crowd, seeing what gets people moving and sharing those moments when a tune lands just right. Tell me who’s coming, what you love listening to and what you’re imagining. We can build from there, choosing the music, sound and lighting to suit your space. I bring my own mobile setup, so there’s room to get creative with where and how we make it happen. My focus is private parties, birthdays, bars and club nights across the South Coast. I don’t take wedding or formal-event bookings. Above all, I want you to enjoy your own party—and see your friends up dancing with you.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My reviews highlight the music selection, smooth mixing and atmosphere. I focus on how a set develops: finding the groove, reading the room and building the energy, backed by powerful EV sound and lighting suited to the space.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

My experience includes private parties and house events around Bournemouth and the South Coast. My mobile setup lets me bring sound and lighting into different spaces. My current focus is club and bar nights, birthdays and informal parties.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Hugel, Carl Cox and Chris Lorenzo are my biggest influences. I also love the energy of performing alongside an MC, especially for heavy grime sets at 140 BPM.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

The events I cherish most are intimate private parties, especially when I can perform alongside an MC and play heavy grime at 140 BPM.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Let me know as soon as possible. I’ll check whether I can accommodate the new timings, and we’ll agree any changes through Encore before the event. Changes depend on availability and the agreed set length.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I can provide a playlist for the warm-up and any agreed breaks. We’ll plan the atmosphere and timings in advance, so the music fits the whole night. Music outside the booked performance window needs to be agreed beforehand.

How much time do you need to set up?

Allow 60–90 minutes for the full sound and lighting rig. Please tell me about stairs, parking, loading access, available space and power so we can plan the setup and soundcheck before guests arrive.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes—tell me which tunes you love, what gets your friends dancing and anything you’d rather avoid! We can mix across genres and decades or build the night around one sound. I’ll use your ideas to shape a live-mixed set, reading the crowd as we go.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I bring my controller for every booking. DJ-only sets use the venue’s suitable sound system. The Small party package adds two EV speakers and compact lighting; Full KLAWD packages add two 18-inch subs and full lighting. We’ll match the setup to your venue and sound limits. Haze and effects require venue permission.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Send special track requests in advance so I can check availability and prepare them for the set. I’ll confirm what I can include. As a DJ, I mix recorded tracks rather than perform live instrumental versions.
