Just About Functioning are a fun, lively, professional party band based in the Surrey, Hampshire and London area. The band have been active for several years but all the members have been playing music in bands, studio sessions etc together for even longer. With the collective knowledge and experience the band has performing together for such a long time, we can guarantee you a memorable party experience for any event.

Just About Functioning were AMAZING! They learnt our first dance song which was really special and then we had the best time and loved all their song choices for our wedding party. Everyone was dancing and having the best time! We can highly recommend! Thank you guys so much!

I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to work with Just About Functioning. From the moment we made the booking they were joy to work with. We selected a bunch of songs we wanted played and songs we didn’t want to play and the band filled in the gaps to complete our set. We also asked them to play 3 songs not on their list and they more than happy to learn them for our wedding. (they were from soft rock to hip hop) The band worked directly with the hotel to sort out arrival and setup times. We also had a DJ and the band took the lead to liaise with the DJ to ensure the playlist didn’t clash, so these were tasks taken of our shoulders. They started off by singing happy birthday to our son who just turned 18. Before playing our song (Iris) they had just learnt for the first dance, which went down perfectly and set the tone for evening. Our third song we asked for was Jump around which went down brilliant the dance floor was electric, it went so well they had to play it twice. The dance floor was busy all evening. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the band. This also included the bar staff at the hotel. The evening would not have been the same without them.

Finding a wedding band isn't easy - our first instincts were to be wildly selfish and choose things we love, but we eventually realized that if the guests aren't having a good time.... it's not really a wedding we'd want to be at. Just About Functioning are an incredible stroke of genius - everyone from our elderly aunties, tiny cousins and hipster art school pals were happy. First and foremost, they're quality musicians - everything was tiptop from the moment they began. They were extremely accommodating about our practically wilderness venue, more than happy to learn our song requests & gave honest, helpful advice around the setlist and our expectations for the day. They also blew us away as an acoustic duo for our ceremony - it was so touching to have the band actually enjoy the music we'd picked and do it all justice. Super professional, well turned out & excellent party vibes - everyone screaming ONE MOOOOOORE at curfew - don't hesitate. Hire them!

My wife and I organized our wedding in a marquee on a farm in the middle of nowhere. We thought we had invited a lively bunch of guests but we had no way to guarantee the atmosphere would properly warm up and we dreaded the thought of an empty dance floor. With ‘Just About Functioning’ on the case we should never have been in doubt. Andy the lead singer had provided us with a vast list of tracks, from which we selected our favourite crowd pleasers. From the moment they lit up the stage, the dance floor was alive. I can't remember how long they played or how many encores they did but amidst moshing mothers and crowd surfing cousins we and all our guests got lost in the electric atmosphere and had the time of our lives. As the dust settled the day after, we had numerous guests approach us to say ‘Just About Functioning’ were the best wedding band they had ever seen. My sister is getting married in 6 months and I am working on her to use the same band, as my wife and I are so desperate to relive the experience again! Andy is a gentleman, laid back, approachable and highly professional. He even went out of his to way to learn a special request for the night which went down so well he was forced by the crowd to sing it again. We couldn't have been happier with Just About Functioning. Their performance completely and utterly blew us away and turned what was already a special day into an absolutely unforgettable experience.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The variety in the set.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes- always the same singer!

Do you have different line-up options?

Not currently.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Once we are booked for the day/evening, we are very flexible with regard to changes in the times of sets provided they are communicated to us as soon as possible.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes at no extra charge- use after the second set there may be an additional cost.

How much time do you need to set up?

1.5 hours including soundcheck.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes. We usually ask for 5-10 songs from our clients so we can get a feel for their favourite music and put together the rest of the set with this in mind.
