About Jones & Quo

This killer Duo plays the best of popular music - Rock, Pop & Soul through to vintage Jazz Standards, with a genuine love for all they do.
Acoustic duo
London
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Oli Jones and Rob Quo met during a jam session, originally bonding over their love for old-time Blues and Jazz. After playing more together, they began to branch out and explore songs of all different eras and genres. Beginning their gigging life as a Jazz duo (Vocals/Piano), they then added the guitar to give a rootsy rhythmic drive to the sound. Both sophisticated instrumentalists in their own right, their natural chemistry creates a unique and enthralling dynamic which incorporates the best of many musical modes and textures. Drawn to anything with soul, Jones & Quo can rock, swing or groove, with improvisation at the core of everything they do. A bit more on both: Rob Quo is a singer-songwriter of 10 years, playing stages up and down the country and recording/releasing his own music as well as performing a broad repertoire of popular song in a variety of guises. Oli Jones, a London Trinity Graduate, began playing as a straight-up jazz nut before exploring blues/honky tonk and then mellowing into a general all-rounder. Oli has played in a great number of different groups and has lent his chops to many a recording session for Pop/Blues/Jazz artists alike. The guys were excellent. They performed really well and hit the right tone for our event. The communicated well from the outset and that took away any stress. Great duo, I would highly recommend them.

What an incredible evening! All of my interactions prior to the evening were prompt, very helpful and worked with me to plan the evening. On the night, they were great. Reading the room and adjusting the music to suit. When people just wanted to chat after the meal, the music and vocals were there and complimenting. Once we had people on the dance floor it stepped up. A really great experience, would book again without a shadow of a doubt and would highly recommend. Thanks for a great night!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Laid-back and soulful. People always pick up on our chemistry and seem to love our selection of tunes!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

All over London in members clubs, up skyscrapers and various historical buildings. Around the country in large corporate spaces and wedding venues. Though, in our opinion (and weather permitting), you can't beat a good garden party. Food, drink & live music - it doesn't get much better than that.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We love old-time Jazz/Blues plus the great Soul singers of the 60's/70's! We love any contemporary music that channels these influences in new and exciting ways.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Appearing at No.10 Downing St was a highlight!

Do you have different line-up options?

We can add other instrumentalists at the drop of a hat. Previous guests include - Sax, Trumpet, Bass & Drums.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We're always happy to accommodate timing changes. Just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate in any circumstance.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we can play music before and between sets. By arrangement only.

How much time do you need to set up?

30 mins, but we like to set-up at least an hour prior to performance time.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Not currently.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Generally, we ask for a few favourites from our repertoire and then tailor a set-list to suit, but we are more than happy to let the client take as many requests as they like from our Songlist.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, we have all the sound equipment needed for my solo performances, including spares/replacements in case of fault.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We are always happy to learn special requests when time allows, but this must be arranged before-hand and special conditions may apply (though we don't usually charge!).
