Singing Swing Sinatra Style Celebrating Frank Sinatra's Centenary year on Saturday 3 January 2015, Jonathan appeared on two BBC Radio shows where 5 Live presenter Eleanor Oldroyd said "I can't tell the difference between Jonathan and Frank" and Paul Ross described Jonathan singing "Fly me to the Moon" as "Fantastic". He has performed several shows with Catherine Tyldesley (who plays Eva Price in Coronation Street and is an outstanding singer in herself), including a private party for Mr Manchester United himself, Sir Alex Ferguson, and makes regular appearances on "The Jimmy Cricket Laughter Show" with the long time favourite Irish Comedian. While performing at a charity ball for the Welsh Air Ambulance, Jonathan found himself performing in front of the world famous Welsh bass-baritone opera and concert singer, Bryn Terfel who later commented how much he had enjoyed Jonathan's spot. Asked to sing on Radio Five Live for the second time Jonathan appeared on the Saturday Breakfast Show 21/8/10 with DJ's Ian Payne and Rachel Burden who both agreed "What a great voice" the Singing Mayor has. Singing in front of 5,000 people at the Rochdale, Manchester Christmas Lights switch on Jonathan was dubbed "Coolest Mayor in the country" by host DJ's Salty and Ditchy of Real Radio. His career has taken him to prestigious venues such as the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City Football Club, the Portmerion Hotel (home of the original TV series The Prisoner) in North Wales, the Hinckley Island Hotel, Leicester, Holiday Inn Liverpool, and the exclusive Hipping Hall Hotel, Kirby Lonsdale. Jonathan's blend of classic Swing songs from Frank Sinatra along with Party favorites to end the evening means he can entertain any and all audiences,with his laid back "Sinatra Style". 2009 - 2010 saw Jonathan honoured for his community work and invested as Mayor of Rochdale. Jonathan Swift's first appearance on Radio 5 Live was the Highlight of the show according to The Daily Telegraph Election Night review. May 2010 saw Jonathan sing to celebrate the promotion of Rochdale Football Club to over 2,000 people and You Tube videos of the "Singing Mayor of Rochdale" gained 2,000 hits.
