He later went onto become a Musician in the British Army studying at The Royal Military School of Music (Kneller Hall) under George Crozier. During his service he performed all over the UK and abroad. An inspirational flute teacher and mentor too many young musicians John now teaches in the Brentwood area of Essex. He is the woodwind instructor at The Brentwood Imperial Youth Band, a marching and concert band which performs regularly in Essex, the UK and in Europe. He also plays with the Champagne Flutes of Brentwood, The Essex Concert Band (piccolo) and is Principal flute of The Heroes Band. In 2012 John became a Product Specialist for Trevor James and Miyazawa Flutes demonstrating the current models available. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience of flutes and the flute world. A flautist for 40 years John shows his passion for the instrument in his presentations, always keen to talk about the TJ flute range and ‘fluting’ in general.
