Jody Tav

Jody Tavender born Nov 1985. Comes from a loving musical family and has been inspired by them since she can remember. Jody joined Jakki Pond School of Performing Arts at the age of 3 and had a great dancing career there for 23 years. Jody's first big show was at The London Palladium at the age of 10 to raise money for the save our babies fund and since then has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, Theatre Royal Dury Lane and Her Majesty's Theatre and the New Victoria Theatre Woking through ATA Productions. Jody achieved an A in Performing Arts and a B in drama for her GCSE'S. Jody then went to Brookland's College in Weybridge (where actor Martin Freeman attended) where Jody achieved a Distinction in her BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts and Distinction in her Musical Theatre Grades 4 and 6. From the age of 19 Jody performed as a guest in her Brother's band Shock Contender. Jody then decided it was time that she did her own thing and auditioned for her first covers band that had no family members involved! Jody got the job but the band lasted about a year but it gave Jody the confidence she needed to go onto bigger and better things! Jody met singing partner Matt in 2007 and joined his Blues Brothers Tribute as a guest Soul Singer. In 2009 Jody joined an ABBA tribute for One Stop Entertainments and toured Cyprus. When Jody returned Matt and Jody formed Harmanyvocalz where they provided karaokes and discos and live entertainment for various events. In 2010 Jody and Matt created their tribute show Meatdiva. Meatdiva is a cabaret comedy tribute show that pays homage to eccentric celebrities like Cher, Meatloaf, Freddie Mercury, Tina Turner and many more! Meatdiva made the semi finals of Britains Got Talent 2013 which can be found online. Meadiva is still going strong and also has an additional member Philip Green who they met through Britains Got Talent. Meatdiva have also performed at The Theatre Royal Dury Lane and Her Majesty's Theatre, British Airways Corporate Event and Woking Party in the Park. Meatdiva have raised money for various charities. Also in 2010 The Fabulous Funky Funks, Jody's 6 piece soul and disco band were formed and are still playing to this day. Jody originally formed The Funks with Jody's father who is now a retired professional musician. Jody wanted to keep the band going and The Funks are better than ever. Both the acts mean everything to Jody and she feels privileged to be part of them as she performs with talented musicians who are like family to her. The Funks have performed at Haven Holiday Parks and Seal Bay Selsey. Frimley Lodge Live, Aldershot Picnic and Pop, Music in the Meadows, The Jazz Cafe Reading, Coppid Beach Hotel Bracknell, The Crowne Plaza Reading, The Park Palaza London, Clandon Festival, Jordan's On The Green Festival, The Cider Sausage Festival Farmham and various Weddings and Birthday parties. Jody is a very versatile singer, she specializes in disco and soul but also loves to sing swing and Jazz. Jody was inspired by her Grandad who sang and played drums in the army band. Jody's knowledge of "standards" is exceptional for someone her age and this shows in her set when she sings at Care Homes and Day Centres through Mac Entertainments. Jody also sings in a duo called "Collaborate" that specializes in Swing with best friend Liam. Liam (who is also a Michael Buble impersonator) fronts The Funks with Jody. There is no end to Jody's talents, Jody also performs in two duo's one called Jody T and Mickey B a vocal and guitar duo they play genres from the 60's through to present. Mick is also the guitarist from The Funks. The 2nd duo is a bass and 2x vocal called Lee and Jody Tav. Performing classic Funk, Rock and Party covers with her brother Lee. All acts that are mentioned above can all be found under the umbrella J Tav Entertainments (formally Harmanyvocalz) which is forever growing and also on Encore! Jody also performs in a solo show and is always looking for more challenging songs to add to her repertoire! Jody is currently working on a Lady Gaga tribute show that she can perform solo or with a full band! So watch this space!!
