Jennifer has been playing violin since she was 8 years old through West Lothian instrumental services. She played with many of the string ensembles in West Lothian and within school throughout her school life. In 2012, Jennifer participated in the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra for the first time and has continued to play with them until now. She also participated in her first National Youth Orchestra of Scotland ensemble with the Spring Academy. In 2012, Jennifer began participating with an exciting new youth project called the Tinderbox Orchestra and has continued to support this project as they will be launching their debut album this year. After moving to Aberdeen, Jennifer attended the North East of Scotland Music School under the tuition of Gillian Findlay. She is currently under the tuition of Guera Maunder at the University of Aberdeen. During her time at the University of Aberdeen, Jennifer began learning the baroque violin and is a member of the Baroque Ensemble of the university. She is a modern violinist in the university's symphony orchestra and the Marischal Chamber Orchestra. This year she is leading the symphony orchestra and leading the 2nd violins of the chamber orchestra. Jennifer was the librarian of both these orchestras last year and is now the current Vice Chair of both these orchestras and Manager of the Marischal Chamber Orchestra in the academic year 2016/17. Jennifer has been active in playing in shows and musicals since 2013 with Youth Music Theatre Scotland and Captivate including the shows Phantom of the Opera, Into the Woods and Spring Awakening. She was recently a part of their sell out Fringe productions of Les Miserables and Oliver! Jennifer performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland last year on their tour to China last and Scottish Opera Connect's production of 'The Cabinet of Dr Caligari'. She also participated with the universities of Scotland symphony orchestra and will be co-leading on their tour in 2017.
