Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The crowd interaction and engagement. I aim to make sure everyone is having a good time.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have worked with Companies such as Greene King, Backyard Brewhouse and Flan O'Brien's. I have performed at too many venues to count, but personal favourites have included the Silverstone Stage at the Barclaycard Arena, The Rainbow Venues in Birmingham and Moles in Bath. Not forgetting all the awesome festivals.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I am influenced in two ways. My Live Looping is influenced by artists such as Beardyman, Walk Off The Earth, KT Tunstall and of course Ed Sheeran. My crowd interaction is inspired by legends of crowd control such as Freddie Mercury, Frank Turner and Reel Big Fish. I've seen these artists (in person or on video) and picked up little bits from each of them.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Last year i took to a stage at the Bath Festival Finale Weekend last year. Shortly after I finished Mabel and Clean Bandit hit the main stage. It was great fun.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I try to be as flexible as possible and I am happy to work with you if planned timings change but please be aware this may affect the set length if changes are made on the day.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I have a playlist of classic party songs that I play before and after each set, I can offer this service for free and the music runs off a phone. If you would be interested in something a bit more engaging/personalised, I can offer a professional DJ service for an additional fee that can be negotiated, feel free to enquire for more details.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually set up an hour before the performance, however due to the technical nature of the performance and amount of gear we have this may vary. I can provide background music or a DJ service as soon as the PA system is set up. See 'Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?' for more details.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

The set I play has been developed over many years of playing different venues, and I tailor each setlist to the specific event. I have spent a lot of time considering what songs work best at what points in a night. However, If you would like a specific order, or want different I would be happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, for most gigs I will bring my PA System, Pedalboard, Guitars, Mics and Stands. Lighting may or not be provided as part of the cost (enquire or see quote for details).

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in my song list there is a chance I still know it. My set varies from event to event, and I have over 3 hours of repertoire. If there is a special song you'd like me to perform or learn please feel free to contact me. I will do my best to perform it at your event.

James was excellent. He was a bit behind schedule but stayed on later which more than made up for it. We had a mixed age group from 18 to 76 and all of them were up dancing. He did a great improv bit at the end where he asked everyone to shout out their cheesy requests and then he sung them, this went down really well and I’m impressed he knew so many songs within seconds. I’d book James again in a heartbeat and recommend anyone else to.

James, was absolutely incredible, he played at my annual Christmas house party and he literally took the show away. He's the best musician I've had yet and I think will be hard to beat! The music was absolutely fantastic, he had a great song set, played some songs that I requested. The best things was his energy, he really knew how to get the crowd going. So many friend asked me where I found this guy and wanted his number. I can fully recommend him, although I really don't want to as I want to keep him all for my parties.... He was very easy to organise and get everything arranged so it suited my party. Thanks a million James, you really made the evening! Cheers

James was a great live music addition to our Beer Festival fundraiser alongside our DJ. He planned sets in advance to match the evening and crowd and was also happy to take requests. Very professional in matching the music and engagement level to the crowd during the event. Everyone really enjoyed his music and would definitely recommend and look to book again for the future ☺️
