Jacqueline is an active flute teacher, performer as well as a Registered Music Therapist. After studying the Junior Music Programme at The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts with Margaret Crawford and Izumi Nikaido, Jacqueline went to study music at the University of New South Wales in Australia, majoring in flute where she studied with Jane Bolinowsky and Rebecca Steel. She graduated with a distinction in Bachelor of Music and Arts. She then further pursued postgraduate studies by completing her Master degree in Music Therapy from the University of Technology, Sydney, where she graduated as a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) registered with the Australian Music Therapy Association Inc. Prior to training as a Registered Music Therapist, Jacqueline has been awarded by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music a Licentiate (LRSM) in flute and a Grade 8 Distinction on piano. Recently, she has completed the training in Chicago specializing in Neurologic Music Therapy, and is now a Neurologic Music Therapist registered with the Robert F. Unkefer Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy. As a performer, Jacqueline performs regularly at hotels as well as wedding gigs in duets and trios. As a qualified teacher and therapist, Jacqueline has clinical experience in a variety of settings, including Early Intervention Childhood Learning Centres, Schools Specializing in Education for Children with Autism, Schools for Children with Special Needs, and Sydney Children’s Hospital, which have equipped her with a variety of practical skills that are required in working with children. Besides working with the children population, Jacqueline is also experienced in facilitating Music Therapy sessions with adults. She has developed vast experiences in nursing homes and day care centres for elderly with dementia, strokes and depression. Organizations served previously include: Chan Nam Chong Memorial School, Hong Kong Red Cross John F. Kennedy Centre, Heep Hong Society, Yuen Long Town Hall, St James’ Settlement, Dance with Depression Association, Hong Kong Society for the Aged, Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing etc. She is currently an instructor at St James' Settlement Continued Education Centre and Yan Chai Hospital Social Services Department Professional Training Centre, as well as visiting lecturers of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University – Hong Kong Community College, and The Open University of Hong Kong.
