Leeds

I perform with my partner Ellie. Ellie Robinson and Jack Maw make up this duo from Scarborough. The two met at Sixth Form in 2019 and have been performing together ever since. They play a variety of music, ranging from the oldies like Elton John, Queen and Fleetwood Mac to newer artists such as Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran and the 1975. They also write a lot of their own material too and they released the single "Do it All Again" with their band The White Roses in 2022. With their powerful harmonies and melodic guitar riffs Ellie and Jack create an atmosphere cant be replicated. They create this unique sound by using influences from both 70's rock to modern indie pop/rock. Whether its a chill acoustic set you're after for background music for your coffee shop or an upbeat rocky set full of bangers for your Saturday night parties they've got you covered. With lots of unreleased material, they've got big things coming soon that you wont want to miss! The duo are currently both studying music at Leeds Conservatoire and are using this to further their careers in the industry. From busking in the street to supporting larger artists to packing out the local pub, Ellie and Jack have lots of experience in different scenario's and only hope to do more in the coming years!

“The second band to play was the White Roses from Leeds, this was the third time that I have seen them play in just around six months. The White Roses are not just a rock band, they are a band that always encourages the crowd to party, and we did! The singalongs and the getting down low worked really well. The last time I saw them was at the Battle Of The Bands at this very venue towards the end of last year. They were good then and they are even better now. The guitarist and co-vocalist carries the guitar hero poses incredibly stylishly, but this is not style over substance he is a bloody talented guitar player. The lead singer’s voice is occasionally reminiscent of Joan Jett. If you haven’t experienced the White Roses yet, sort it out!“

“They are purveyors of fine classic rock sounds, but we are not talking covers, this is their own original material. Vocally is like a cross between Joan Jett and Stevie Nicks at times. The lead guitarist is a complete master of his art and plays his axe like a young Bill Nelson. This is definitely a band for the future.”
